The only way to get a confession or cooperation from a suspect is to offer something in return for their statement. Typically a suspect that confesses is offered a lesser sentence or reduced charge in exchange for the confession.
This practice is quite widespread because suspects are guaranteed the right to not self-incriminate themselves in the constitution.
No suspect has to give themselves up, so they have to be enticed into doing so.
How do you make an accessory to the crime admit his participation in the crime committed?
Lets say 2 killers were seen in committing a crime, one was the look out the other was the shotter, the shotter is still atlarge but the look out accomplish is in jail but denays all involvement to the crime. How do you make him say the truth?
