I was in a gun store today and listened to a cop who was talking about the government confiscating weapons, and said he was going to move to Texas soon and had hoped he could hide his guns well enough not to be found. I said to him, wouldnt you be the one knocking on my door? He replied, hell no, they would take mine also.

The company my dad works for, the largest employer in our city, has laid all of their temporary workers & has given the ultimatum to all the workers who have been there less than ten years to either take ‘voluntary’ unemployment or have hourly pay reduced by 50%. Hundreds of workers went from making $19/hr to $11/hr. Most have decided to stay and take the pay cut- at least $11 is better than 0 after unemployment runs out. After taxes & insurance that’s like $8/hr. How can people live on that?

I served in the Air Force, my son as well as both my brothers in the Army. It won’t be as easy as you assume it will be to find hundreds of thousands of Americans willing to kill their own people. Any determined resistance by armed Americans will reduce the govt. to what they really are…a bunch of damned criminals and stuffed shirts. I’ve read somewhere that only about 5% of people who had gold turned it in. It is seriously doubtful that gold will be confiscated this time because back in the 1930’s the dollar was backed by gold & gold was actually used as money. Now gold is traded as a commodity, not money. Plus, what would confiscation accomplish anyway? How many people do you know who have gold? Taking gold from a tiny minority (worth couple million (?)) will do exactly nothing for the dollar or a new US currency.
