Blame the Evidence Not the Crime?

By admin On May 26, 2009 Under Crime Videos

IMPORTANT: To support further investigation and possible prosecution of the use of torture, go to www.aclu.org Bill O’Reilly on Fox News has attacked the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and its members, like me, a lot lately, including the bogus attack I deconstruct in this video regarding the ACLU’s support for releasing photos and other information about abuse and torture in several prisons run by the US military. The clips of “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News that I use in this …

The leaders are, but the members themselves aren’t. You can look up the statistics in the FBI World Facts book they publish every year.

Everyone deserves a fair trial. I read about one Guantanamo prisoner the other day who has been locked up since 1999 and only just got a trial two weeks ago. I’m sorry but that is a completely flawed model of democracy.

Terrorists are not protected under the GC, and they know they are terrorists

Muhammad, as you said, never told his followers to kill “infidels” in the name of Allah. If you ever get the chance, watch a Nightline documentary on the Middle East where they print these Qur’ans. They found out that these printing companies have been changing the phrasings to make Islam seem more militant for the few there who can read.

1) No, it brings not but dishonor.
2) It should be, but egos and nationalism can get in the way of things here.

Show me quotes of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) telling his followers to kill and torture, then come back and we’ll debate.

To everyone who thinks the issue of torture is irrelevant and that ACLU are kicking up a fuss for no good reason let me ask you this: If the situation was turned artound at it was US troops being tortured in prisons of war, wouldn’t you want transparency and human rights for those locked up in there?

You can’t fight a war against terrorism using terrorist ideology yourselves. You IMMEDIATELEY put yourselves on their level by doing so and are in danger of justifying their views of the west.

The second problem lies with the ACLU.
No one disagrees with the fact that these happenings are heinous. But if you release those photos, then you’ll undoubtedly fuel the terrorists recruitment drive.

ACLU should actually fight against the torture of prisoners itself.

The problem here is on both sides.
First of all, the government itself is at fault. The government is a two headed back stabbing snake. One one hand America has signed the Geneva convention, which forbids the torture of war criminals and on the other hand, it tortures the people itself. And these guys torture to establish if a guy’s a terrorist or not!
That means you torture a guy and then say, “Oh, he’s innocent…our bad.”

I don’t agree with the ACLU here 2:50 to 3:00. While this comment may or may not be true, our military has lots of covert operations and information and they should always have access to that format to operate effectively.

Not true. Majority of Muslim terrorists are college educated and literate.

I think that it is important to have transparency, but I do think there would be a serious backlash against the American troops if the photos are released to the public. I think the safety of the troops should come first, and maybe when this war is over some real work can be done to bring these people to justice when not so much is at stake. I think the torture techniques should be stopped immediately, but the photos should remain secret for the time being.

terrorists don’t belong in American civil courts either, or anywhere on North American soil, but the ACLU thinks they do

Savior20061

No. The problem is that torture passes as enhanced interrogation to you dumbass rightwingers.

1oct1…. “they want to take down a cross in a national park”…

I don’t always agree with the ACLU but a cross or any other type of symbol (religious and non-religious alike) does not belong on public property and should be removed immediately.

Most of these terrorists you find over there are illiterate. They don’t know what the Qur’an says. They really don’t. They’re not even taught how to read it. So what these sheiks and mullahs tell them about it could be (and normally is) a lot of bullshit.
