How bad is crime on the University of Maryland College Park campus and its surrounding areas?
I’m seriously considering this school as an option but I’m concerned about the crime rate. The only things I’ve heard are from my parents, but they just seem scared because of the riot that happened when maryland beat duke.
I want to go to this school but all i hear about is how much crime there is

I don’t think a robbery charge would stick, since you can always claim you were recovering the goods for the police to sell and doing a citizens arrest.
Pretty funny way would be gassing with a can of CS then putting the dealers fingers onto the can, as a defence in court lol.
How is crime and illegal activity a bad thing if it pays the goverment?
Anyone who says that you shouldn’t break the law and commit crimes has no idea what they are talking about. For those of you who think I’m making a retarded statement, here are the facts:
1. People who get arrested have to pay fines
2. A good amount of the money that people pay in fines goes to the government (and very often its the local government of the town or city where the crime in question was committed)
3. The more money a government makes, the better shape the country, city, town, state, will be in because the government can use that money to solve the problems of the country, city, town, state, etc.
4. Therefore, it can be safely said that breaking the law and getting arrested is a good thing because by having to pay fines you are making the government richer, and by making the government richer you are helping out the country, town or state that the government runs!
All this goes to show that CRIME REALLY DOES PAY…. IT PAYS THE GOVERNMENT! And if the government is rich, the country or town the government rules will be on easy street. All this considered, how can anyone possibly say that illegal activity is a bad thing?!?!?

If you get arrested and brought into the police station and are questioned by the police, and then immediately released, and are told they will contact you if they are going to charge you, how long do they have to charge you with a crime? They’re positive the crime happened and have solid proof. It was a nonviolent weapons crime.

OK. First, it wasn’t me. And second, I guess I shoulda said this, he sorta threatened the guy, but then was just messing around with the gun, like they were friends, and since he was drunk, accidentally pulled the trigger. My friend said it was some special trigger that shot twice when you pull it.
